Words

Don't you just love Hillsong United's Oceans? Well, it is my favorite! Have you ever really listened to the power of these words, if not you can go here:   https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FBJJJkiRukY

You call me out upon the waters
The great unknown where feet may fail
And there I find You in the mystery
In oceans deep
My faith will stand

And I will call upon Your name
And keep my eyes above the waves
When oceans rise
My soul will rest in Your embrace
For I am Yours and You are mine

Your grace abounds in deepest waters
Your sovereign hand
Will be my guide
Where feet may fail and fear surrounds me
You've never failed and You won't start now

So I will call upon Your name
And keep my eyes above the waves
When oceans rise
My soul will rest in Your embrace
For I am Yours and You are mine

[6x]
Spirit lead me where my trust is without borders
Let me walk upon the waters
Wherever You would call me
Take me deeper than my feet could ever wander
And my faith will be made stronger
In the presence of my Savior

Oh, Jesus, you're my God!

I will call upon Your name
Keep my eyes above the waves
My soul will rest in Your embrace
I am Yours and You are mine

..."You call me out upon the waters. The great unknown where feet may fail".....

Our great unknown was life with a tiny angel we call Brayden, but let's refer to him as Sweet B...

"You are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think", these words were chosen so innocently and nonchalantly before we ever held Sweet B (Brayden) in our arms, looked into his beautiful eyes...before we ever had a glimpse of the life we had been dreaming of for our little angel. These words covered the wall right above his crib, almost as if they were a way of identifying this little light in this big world. Little did we know at the time how these words would ring true, just how brave, strong, and smart he was....And how powerful words can be....

Have you ever heard the saying "God does not give us more than we can handle"? I don't believe that, because I know first hand he does.

..."And keep my eyes above the waves. When oceans rise" ...

The words on the psychologist's report read "Brayden's pattern of behaviors are consistent with a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder"... talk about some powerful words! These words were printed just like any other...yet they had the power to make your heart skip beats, lumps form in your throat, tears sting your eyes, bring you to your knees, shatter your dreams....leave you utterly breathless.
DISCLAIMER...We have been bearing the burden of the potential diagnosis for nearly two years and felt after doing all that was within our power it was time for clarity, and peace, time for someone to just SAY IT OUT LOUD and really tackle this bitch head on!

..."Your grace abounds in deepest waters"...

Just following this diagnosis I sat listening during my bible study literally feeling like I could fall apart at any moment, how was I supposed to breathe with the unpredictability of it all and then the words  "sometimes God shatters dreams because He is working on something bigger!" were spoken. Alright God, I hear you! Bring it on!!!

Words... Not one completely describes Sweet B...they all just uniquely fit together knitting this precious boy who was fearfully and wonderfully made. God spanned over the whole earth and he chose me, or should I say us, to raise Sweet B!  Every time I look into those baby blues and he says "hold me mama" I have no idea where my heart ends and his begins. Every time he smiles I cannot help but think of the song "this little light of mine". When he brings me his scraped knees and says "kiss" I know my life's purpose. And then when he snuggles in my arms I know, I know no words will ever change my love, overcome my joy, dim his light, grow our hearts less...He is truly a gift from God!

...."Spirit lead me where my trust is without borders, let me walk upon the waters wherever You would call me."...

Sometimes God does give us more than we can handle, yearning for us to lean on Him, trust Him. Hence the blog title from  Hillsong United' Oceans "where feet may fail and fear surrounds me, You've never failed, and You won't start now". After all, hasn't He already written this story?

So without further ado..the purpose of this blog will be for me to use my words to show you just how brave, strong, and smart my Sweet B is.  My hope is this will be a way for those who love Brayden to follow his courageous journey, to answer your questions, and raise your awareness of Autism.  But, most importantly when you speak of or think of  Brayden, you don't think Autism...you think sweet, precious, loving, amazing, mysterious, wild, curious, blessing.  And let's be honest...I really hope you all will pray for us and support us in our deepest water. Everything we are doing we are stepping out in faith, so please don't pass judgements here, we are doing the best we can!

..."Take me deeper than my feet could ever wander, and my faith will be made stronger"...

We have been blessed beyond words and hope this blog will bless you....hear me when I say we are hopeful and ready to grab life by the horns. Sit back and be ready to be amazed,  and please also hear these words...

*There will be plenty on this blog about T.Sully and our family. T.Sully has been just as much of a blessing, and I am so thankful God knew we needed him!!
